Anyone know what all this is about? Did he have a lifetime ban or not? I heard he had served his ban and they were still preventing him from competing in the Olymics because he was an embarrassment, but on the news today it said he had a lifetime ban.

If he got a lifetime ban it's his own tough shit.

He had a lifetime ban, but he got that overturned.

So if he got it overturned why can't he go to the Olympics?

No idea.

He was trying to overturn it and failed thats why he is not going to the olympics

Right, this is where I'm getting confused, did he get a two year ban from competing in athletics completely and a lifetime ban from the Olympics?

He got a lifetime ban.

But he's back competing in athletics, he didn't get a lifetime ban from competing in every competition.

No, he appealed to get the ban overturned.

I just had a quick Google. He got a two year ban from competing in athletics, which finished in 2006, but a lifetime ban from the Olympics.

When they first reported this story, back when he was qualifying, the reports made it sound like he'd completed his two year ban and the athletics authorities were trying to prevent him from being able to compete at the Olympics, because they thought he was a bit of a twat.

Turns out he's simply banned from the Olympics, end of story. Cheating twat. :D
