Firstly, there is absolutely no connection to Liberty and New York. The statue of Happiness is holding a cup...in the wrong hand...while Liberty is holding a flame in the other hand.
Secondly, GTA is NOT BLOODY ultraviolent. Get your facts straight Telegraph!

Eagle-eyed???
I have never been to New York, but I can spot loads of places in the game that look like locations that exist in the real world.
Guess what? IT IS BASED ON NEW YORK! DUUUH!
I was driving around there earlier tonight, having a great time mowing down pedestrians and evading the police in me stolen car. Last night I picked up a hooker. When she finished I shot her in the head and got me money back.
Ultra-violent? Nooooooo!
