The "drop the debt" stuff that Bono has been promoting seems fair enough. I wasn't too sure about it at first but I don't think this country makes very much out of continuing to collect on these debts and it could give these countries a fair crack of the whip to have the debt dropped.

Then, as you say, it's up to them. A free market would help too but they'll have to get organised.
