The worst ones for me were the people jumping from the twin towers on 9/11.

You know, theoratically, if you would fall from that height, you'd quite likely pass-out before the collision with good ol' mother earth.

I'm not sure that's true though. For a start, skydivers fall for a long way before opening their shutes and don't pass out - it would be deadly to do so. Secondly, on the pics I saw, the people were moving their arms and legs as they fell, in a sort of attempt to fly. It was horrible.

Oh and there was that guy whose parachute failed to open. He survived, luckily, but he was conscious all the way down, even saying "bye" just before he hit the ground.

If you fall a great lenght, you will pass out out of the need of oxygen. Not sure is the speed or the drop enough from the tower.
Anyway, who the hell would be stupid enough to try to fly?
