Pink Floyd - Wizard of Oz
If you've heard about this and want to try it I have the easiest ever instructions for you to follow.
Forget all that other stuff you've read on the web or heard off your friends, it's far to complicated and by the time you suss out their instructions you'll not be in the chilled out frame of mind and ready for the rather pleasant attack on your senses.
First you need a copy of The Wizard of Oz (1939 version) and Pink Floyds Dark side of the Moon album on CD.
Step 1. Insert DVD, turn the sound OFF, play then pause at the credits when it says 'Produced by Mervyn Leroy'.
Step 2. Insert CD press repeat for the whole album, set to track 2 and pause.
Step 3. Simultaneously restart the DVD and CD from their pause position.
You'll know if it's right if Mrs Gulch appears just as the chimes in time go off. Oh and don't forget to press repeat on your CD player.
Things you may notice - The first sync is when you hear the words "Look around " (from the album as you have no sound on the TV) at which exact point Dorothy does look around.
As the line "balanced on the biggest wave" from Breathe is heard, Dorothy teeters on the rail of the pig-sty.
Just as Dorothy breaks into a trot "No one told you when to run" from Time is heard.
A little lame so far but when The chimes in Time go off at the appearance of Mrs Gulch it's amazing and you know you've cracked it at this point.
From thereon in it gets better and more freaky, just as Dorothy tentatively pushes open the door and your viewing changes from black and white old movie style into big bold and brashness of colours "cha-ching" Money begins exactly on cue.
The munchkins dance to the tempo of Money and just as the wicked witch appears you hear the word 'black' uttered.
There are many many more coincidences, the ones I've listed are the more commonly spoke about but my most favourite is when you can quite clearly hear the sound of a beating heart just as Dorothy bangs on the Tin Man's chest to see if he's got a heart.
You'll know if you've got the sync right if this happens >>
Mrs Gulch - the bitch!
Things are really happening when it turns from black and white into full technicolour
The Munchkin Money clip.
Enjoy!
Re: Pink Floyd - Wizard of Oz
Ck - I have heard this tale for years and it is interesting - and seems to forgo the need for magic mushrooms for some. But what is interesting from your instructions are start at Track 2 and press repeat (From Track 2?)
I like the album but hate the film and aint seen it for forty years. So I am not off to see the munchkin Wizard but off seeing him.
But ta for the heads up.

Re: Pink Floyd - Wizard of Oz
Yeah, you have to sync it starting at track 2 of the album but the album plays 3 times round for the length of the film.
You have to press repeat for the whole album though rather than repeat for just that track. CD players allow you to do both repeating the full album and repeating just the track and each CD player is different to what button to press to make that work.
On my first attempt I mistakedly repeated the track rather than the album so I had to start again and it's an arse getting up and fiddling again once you've been settled.![]()

I wish that were true![]()
Re: Pink Floyd - Wizard of Oz
I have always wanted to play the album "Animals" to a selection of film montage of news, politics and celebrities. Baa!
"Hey you Whitehouse" (the late Mary or George W would do) - or maybe it should now be "Hey you Winehouse - ah ha - she wah!) - you ****ed up town mouse.
But in the words of Mr Waters "You KNOW that I care, for you" (all!) - it is just that the Amy's of this world do not appear to care for themselves.
And speaking of "Dogs" - only kidding -I think - Ms Spears going out with a paparazzi now?

Re: Pink Floyd - Wizard of Oz
dont play the dark side of the moon again, but play their follow-up album "Wish you Were here" and the whole thing starts over again :
- the sign in the woods

Re: Pink Floyd - Wizard of Oz
Ok, so you play Dark side of The Moon first and then instead of repeating it you play Wish you were here?
