They've arrested him!

They haven't said why but they are making a big play on the fact that the wife claimed the life insurance and went to Panama.

In Scotland it's at least 7 years or if, on the balance of probabilities it can be shown that the person has died such as being lost at sea, or in a bombing etc. I'm not sure what the rules are in England.

I think it depends on where the 'crime' was committed. If she was in the UK when she defrauded the insurance (if she knew her husband wasn't dead) then she could be charged here. She could well say she honestly thought he was dead but then it wouldn't explain how they have photographed together in Panama.
