I think there have been a few cases of containers full of dead immigrants.

Yeah, although usually that was down to reckless lack of any care for the people being transported, rather than downright malicious like actually chucking people into the sea. But, as you say, these folk are bound to be pretty unscrupulous.

It's sad yes, but unfortunately they know the risks when they get on the boats. They choose to take that risk in the hope of making life better. Some believe they're risking death if they stay, so they might as well die trying.
