Default Mystery of the sculptures solved...

BBC NEWS | England | West Yorkshire | Carvings mystery appears solved

Mystery sculptures were appearing at homes and businesses. It has recently been discovered it was the creator who is very private... he wanted to see people's reactions when they found his sculpture on the doorstep.

    Freaky or ingenious?

He sounds like a very generous, but slightly disturbed person to me. The sculptures are excellent, but if he chooses to give them away instead of selling them, it's either a very good advertising gimmick or he's a genuine nutcase.

    Of the nicest variety!

Most arty types are a bit bonkers

I think it's great to see such generosity.

I'm still in two minds about it... on the one hand it is generous and there was no harm done but on the other was he stalking these people to see their reaction?

    Am I just too cynical?

    lol @ stalking

Although, now you've said that I'd not be surprised if someone doesn't sue him for damages.

Wouldn't stalking be difficult if he's away camping?

It doesn't say in the article but I definitely read that he was wanting to see what people would do with them.

How else would he know what people have done with them. He also left them there in the middle of the night.

Anyway, it was just a nice thought, or clever marketing ploy and not some creepy stalker.
