A video of a Malaysian man, thought to be a drug dealer, has appeared on Video site LiveLeak where it shows the fella getting his arse caned with a rotan.
This is actually pretty cringeworthy stuff!!

Getting beaten like that. I'm not sure it would be effective in crime prevention.

Some people deserve it, but that punishment should fit the crime if it is to be used.
