That's an interesting theory until you check back to find that Fred and Rosemary West's kids knew no different and thought everyone's life was the same as theirs.

That takes a bit of thought and imagination!

Interesting. Obviously that kind of upbringing would clearly lead to the kids growing up into social misfits, but there is a chance the kids don't mind what's being done to them. To them it's normal.

I remember watching a documentary on an alleged kiddy fiddling ring on the Orkneys, I think it was. The social services are still adamant that the kids on the islands were being sexually abused, but they couldn't prosecute because the kids denied it. Maybe it was due to fear of reprisals, but considering they'd already been taken into care I doubt that. But they all wanted to go back home to their allegedly abusive parents.

That kind of stuff makes me sick, and it does seem to run rampant. My own mother was abused as a child, and that's very close to home! Too many sickos out there, I'm afraid! At least they were caught!
