Baby's body found in waste recycling plant in Scunthorpe - Mirror Online

    BellWasteControl2CScunthorpe - Baby recycling ?

The body of a young baby has been found at a waste recycling plant in North Lincolnshire.

The boy's body was discovered among items to be recycled at the Bell Waste Control site on Winterton Road in Scunthorpe.

A male worker at the site made the grim discovery at around 9.30am this morning.

He was said to be in a "very distressed" state and being interviewed by police.

The baby boy is believed to be less than six months old.

The scene has been cordoned off in order for initial inquiries to take place however very little is known about the circumstances as yet.

A spokesman for Humberside Police said: "We have launched an investigation into the death of a baby following the discovery of a body this morning at a waste recycling plant in Scunthorpe.

"At this time, very little is known in terms of the circumstances which led to the baby seemingly being discarded but we are concerned that the baby's parents, in particular his mother, may need help and support following the loss of her child and as such she may be very vulnerable at this time.

"We are urging anyone who can help identify the parents of this baby or the parents themselves to come forward in order for us to make sure they get any support or medical treatment that may be required."

Police hope a post mortem being carried out tomorrow will provide more clues as to how the baby died.

Speaking outside Scunthorpe Police station, Detective Sergeant Karen Philpott said: "Our main priority is to try and identify the mother of this child. We believe she may need medical assistance and support."

Nessa Thompson, managing director of Thompson Recycling Group, on Winterton Road, said: "For the people who found it, it is terrible.

"We are very close knit and we heard what had happened through the drivers.

"It is absolutely appalling. I cannot think of anything worse," according to This is Scunthorpe.

Pig-shit thick Cameron, who is one of the most powerful men on the planet? I don't think he's half as daft as you like to believe Del, he's managed to do quite well for himself for such a village idiot.

Don't you get it earl? It's not clever to get into government, what is clever is making puns from their names.
