MUM’S 18 PINTS OF COKE A DAY

AN inquest into the sudden death of a 30-year-old woman heard yesterday that she drank up to 18 pints of Coca- Cola a day for years.

Natasha Harris, a mother-of-eight, would go “crazy” without it.
Her partner, Christopher Hodgkinson, claimed her death was the linked to the drink.
He said: “She had been drinking a lot of Coca-Cola over the past seven or eight years.
“The first thing she would do in the morning was have a Coke and the last thing she would do was have a drink of Coke by her bed.’’ Ms Harris died at home in Invercargill on New Zealand’s South Island.

An post-mortem showed she had a diseased liver and other evidence revealed the “main finding” of death was an irregular heartbeat.
Dr Dan Mornin told the court she probably had severe hypo- kalemia, a lack of potassium, relating to excessive consumption of soft drinks.
George Adams, Coca-Cola’s New Zealand managing director, has said Mr Hodgkinson’s claims are “patently untrue’’.
