Shortly after the attack Lecuyer posted a letter under the victim’s apartment door, the letter was addressed “Dear You” in block capitals and went on to firstly apologise for the sexual assault and request that the victim didn’t contact the police. The letter then continued as Lecuyer described in crude language what sexual acts he would like to do to the woman.

Lecuyer also wrote to his social worker complaining that he was frustrated because he had no money, no girlfriend, was suffering from scabies and didn’t like where he lived.
