Not to say that I agree with the practise or in any way accept it as right. Even if the girl were not to die in childbirth, it is wrong for many reasons.

A 12-year-old Yemeni child-bride died after struggling for three days in labour to give birth, a local human rights organisation said.

Fawziya Abdullah Youssef died of severe bleeding on Friday while giving birth to a stillborn in the al-Zahra district hospital of Hodeida province, 140 miles west of the capital San'a.

Child marriages are widespread in Yemen, the Arab world's poorest country, where tribal customs dominate society.

More than a quarter of the country's females marry before age 15, according to a recent report by the Social Affairs Ministry.

Once upon a time, men were able to marry several women and keep slaves. Yemen must be CALLED OUT on what the world knows as child abuse. These girls under 15 are children facing rape, molestation and lavicious acts by grown men.

Human Rights Violation community must expose this to the hilt all over the world and bring shame to the country, cut it off of resources as well.

It's a very sad story. I think it is time that the world stands up and fights these crazy customs. Child brides to me it's just wrong!

I hope the parents have thought the child is too young to be married. Was it an arranged marriage? If it was then, they should have waited until the girl turns 18 years old and above. It would be pretty hard to give birth when your body is not yet fully developed.

They don't give a flying f**k if the girls are underage in that country, it's obvious. And if the child got married at 12, obviously it was an arranged marriage according to their customs. I can't believe this is still going on in the world in this day and age. Even though I don't agree with the concept of ''arranged'' marriages, I can still understand it somehow but getting pregnant a little child - that is just monstrous. Those men who actually go and have sex with these children should be castrated, just to give them a taste of their own medicine - disgusting!
