The brown recluse spider has been found throughout many of the southern and central states including parts of Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina. Limited numbers of specimens have been found in Washington, DC, Arizona, California, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Wyoming.
