Dwarves Want The Word Midget Banning

I've known for a long time that dwarves didn't like the term midget, but it never stopped Bridget.

I did wonder though last week when those two wrestlers were found dead, all the press referred to them as midget wrestlers.

Oh for Pete's sake! Where's the sense in banning words. They come and go ... Some change meaning over time, others disappear altogether. Banning a word is like telling someone not to think about elephants. Next thing you know no matter what you think about it always comes down to elephants!

A word cant really be "banned" from use, can it. What will happen, will we be made to wash our mouths out with soap and water?.
If, however, a minority group see's a word to describe them, as being insulting, it does,nt take a genius to work out, that to use an alternative acceptable word, is the right thing to do. If we all took the view that words come and go, so its pointless to not use them, we would still be calling Blacks, n******, Homosexuals P****, and so on, and so on.

Dwarf is the proper medical term though, I think it's acceptable. The athletic event is called the Dwarf Games so they must be comfortable with dwarf.

Well I always thought there were dwarves, and midgets.

Kenny baker is a dwarf, dwarves tend to have fairly regular sized heads and torsos but with shorter limbs. Then there's midgets, who are proportionately sized small people, like Vern Troyer. At least that's what I thought.

But I learned that both types are dwarves, pituitary dwarves are the ones with short limbs and non-pituitary dwarves are small all over. But they're all called dwarves, and certainly not midgets.
