Lepers in Ethiopia are cast out of society and are living in cemeteries. Wandering around the tombstones going blind and with missing limbs, moaning and groaning. I bet it looks fucking terrifying at night.

That reminds me of scenes in the video games for Nintendo called Castlevania, in the cemetaries there were ghouls stumbling around.

Maybe instead of going to the cemetaries they should find an Embassy of the USA and see if they can get help from there.
