Donna Hopkins from Holbrooks in Coventry found a big ugly spider in her Somerfield shopping.

The Tube Web spider was in amongst her peppers. Apparently they're right nasty little fuckers, and they reckon the British population of them is growing.

I must admit to a little sadistic pleasure with this story. It wasn't aimed at you personally Timey, but I did think of you when I posted it.

I don't like the idea of nasty little critters living here either though, I'm not much of a fan of creepy crawlies meself. Especially ones that give you a nasty bite.

Iknow most of the midlands and I no longer live there as it went down hill in the 80s so when I had the oppertunity to move to Brighton I did now I want to move to Derby(which is well in the pipeline)

Me neither. Mind you, even our indigenous ones seem to be getting bigger. There was one in the downstairs loo the other day and it was pretty big, and it's only June. What will they be like by September? It's strange too - we didn't get any spiders in the house last year, and this year we've had several already. Was last year a bad year for arachnids I wonder?

I don't think we;ve had one in the house all year. And we've got a spider grabber just in case.
