Woman loses assisted suicide case
A woman with multiple sclerosis has lost her High Court case to clarify the law on assisted suicide.
She had wanted a guarantee that her husband would not be prosecuted. I personally feel that assisted suicides are better in extreme cases.

Re: Woman loses assisted suicide case
I'll never agree with suicide, there has to be a better option.

Re: Woman loses assisted suicide case
I guess she doesn't want to live with it any longer.

On this case I agree with Nietzsche, If you feel like your life is worthless and horrible, end it.
But in a case like an assisted one...
munching weak-minded fools couldn't do it by themselves?
That is just sad.

Re: Woman loses assisted suicide case
They've just found a new drug that helps MS sufferers so one must never give up hope.
I don't know if it is a factual fact but it is generally seen to be true, that sufferers of MS have a tendency to understate their needs and have a really upbeat attitude regards their condition.

As always, though, it's not as simple as that. The partner will, of course, want to be with their loved one in the last moments. With the stupid laws that we have at the moment, he or she could be prosecuted just for that. Just being with them could be deemed as "assistance" because they did nothing to stop them. munching stupid.

Re: Woman loses assisted suicide case
No one has ever been charged with it though, have they?

Re: Woman loses assisted suicide case
No idea. The point is, they COULD be, and this case confirms that, so people aren't going to take the chance. It's sad really.
