The Bionic Woman
Michelle Ryan who starred in the BBC soap EastEnders as Zoe Slater is to star in the remake of the 1970's US TV show, The Bionic Woman. 22 year old Ryan beat apparently beat a host of other stars to play the role according to Variety.
She will play Jaime Sommers, a tennis professional whose body is rebuilt with electronic parts after an accident, giving her super human abilities. The original show began in 1976 and starred actress Lindsey Wagner.
The pilot show for the US Network NBC will be a "re-imagination" of the original, producers said. Ms Ryan recently appeared in the British romantic comedy, Cashback, and will soon be seenn opposite Billie Piper in the ITV adaption of Jane Austen's Mansfield Park.
The Bionic Woman was a spin off from The Six Million Dollar Man.
