Default Wallander

Kenneth Branagh's new TV series - BBC One at 9.00pm last night?

I have been thinking about it all day. It puzzles me why it was made in that way?

Written by a Swede I assume and set in Sweden. Actually filmed there too -it had nothing Swedish about it. Marvellous cast but almost all British - - David Warner, Peter McEnery etc - all playing Swedes.

Even character names like Nyberg (pronounced Newberry in Swedish) are given in our version when uttered - Nighberg

And angst ridden detective again. No wonder it is due to last only a couple more episodes - this series. The Branagh character will be burnt out by then.

Kurt Wallander?

This is Taggart on skis if you ask me.
