Former Blackpool arts college student John Simm is to take over as the new Doctor Who, according to newspaper reports.
As revealed in this morning's News of the World, the former Blackpool and the Fylde College actor, last seen as time-travelling cop Sam Tyler in Life on Mars, will take over from current Time Lord David Tennant next year.
Simm, 35, will become the 11th Doctor in the series history.
He was last seen in the cult TV series playing Doctor Who's arch nemsis, The Master.

She said it was in the news of the World. I hope this is not true, I can't think of anyone worse for the part.

I can't understand how he can be the Doctor after being the Master, but stranger things have happened.
