When Jeremy Clarkson was challenged about this, he admitted that he knew the car had only a small charge before he set out. But, he said: "That's how TV works".
What a disgrace. The BBC should not be producing this shite, Clarkson should have been fucked off to Channel 5 years ago, the scruffy, arrogant, buffoon.

Avid followers of TG & the tits will tell you that is is indeed not a factual programme but an entertainment show - FACT.

we take everything with a pinch of salt as it is indeed light entertainment.

for hardcore motoring info we go to WhatCar or AutoExpress

Btw, we seriously lol when watch the tits - it is a good fun show and nothing more.
The races are all set up and most people are aware of that.
To trat this show as anyhting other than a joke is totally inappropriate.

Top Gear was also nominated for a National Television Award in the Most Popular Factual Programme category; it won the award in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011.

Yes, it's about as factual as you though Lucian It just pretends to be a factual show when it is indeed a crock of shit.

This is the thing. I like Top gear but if it's purporting to be factual then it should be that, which is quite clearly isn't. The thing is, they didn't need to fake it anyway, as waiting 11 hours for a car to charge might work on a day-to-day basis for the nearby stuff like going to work and getting the shopping but it's not much use for anything else. And they cost way too much at the moment. Maybe that will change in time and I would really like to see electric cars become more usable as they are much cleaner for a start. That Nissan looked really nice, but too expensive for me.

    Hi Timey
We are liking you even more as you too is a fan of TG

Re electric cars, not the way forward until better, longer life batteries come on line.
Any rechargeable batter not properly looked after becomes quiet usual v soon. to replace batteries on these cars will cost thousands and they can go after 4/5 years or sooner.

TG, for those with more than a single brain cell, can tell if the show is being serious or taking the piss, easy as that. FACT

The way forward is hydrogen, just give it a few years and you will see.

That's not a fact at all, the show is publicised as a factual TV show, if you're reviewing any product you should stick to the facts.

Hydrogen powered or hydrogen fuel cell is the way forward. that way you are not using batteries, you either use hydrogen as fuel and you get water as a by product or you use a fuel cell, which is like a battery but you top it up with hydrogen instead of directly recharging with electricity. At least, I think that's how it works. Of course the problem just now is how to produce the hydrogen as that can create as much if not more carbon emissions. However, they will resolve that in time I am sure and it would at least remove mos to the noise and and air pollution at street level, which can only be good.
