Bradley Wiggins will become first UK cyclist to win the Tour de France

Bradley Wiggins has retained the yellow jersey in the penultimate stage of the Tour de France and is now almost certain to win the coveted title for the first time by a British rider. It also looks like his team mate and fellow Brit Chris Froome will get second place as well. Although there is still the final stage tomorrow, Wiggins has such a commanding lead that only disaster could prevent him from winning it, and the final stages in Paris are traditionallly uncontested, so it looks like we will have our first winner in the 99th TdF.

Yep, and Cavendish won the final stage as well, and Froome was second overall, so very good for the Brits.
