    Default Earl.

You said the other day that you took over this forum.

    Curious-roughly.
How much work do you reckon you have put into the forum over the yearz to improve it?

Has it been a massive learning curve or were you already clued up??

Would you do it all over again if you knew what it entailed?

    Have you had any help?

If you ever did start again what is the most significant thing you would do?

Has the forum ever 'stressed you?

Just give us a brief run down.

There's no way of calculating the amount of work I've put in. About 40 hours a week, for the past 6 years. And I learnt everything from scratch, the beauty of running a website is you're sat directly in front of the world's biggest source of information, anything you need to know you just Google. Any muppet can do it, if they put their mind to it.

I asked a friend for help and he just gave me a book called HTML for Dummies so I cracked on with it.

The forum isn't stressful, when something breaks it can be, but that's not all that often these days either.

You should write a book about your experiences.

I wouldn't buy it but I would find somewhere to download it for free.

How did you get on with the varied terminology, initials of things, knowing/understanding what they meant?

If you got a 'bug' would you be able to sort it?

All on the internet Major. It's such an amazing repository of information. There are other forums too, that give technical advice if you are a member. I used to frequent tek-tips.com quite a lot.

The only thing I'm having trouble understanding right now is what you mean.

The terminology is mostly obvious, if there is a fault if some sort it's usually quite clear where it originates.

This is the thing though, knowimg the terminology is one thing but bug diagnosis is another. It's not always obvious what os causing a problem or how to fix it, as with that one we had a few weeks back.

I was replying to the Major, Timey.

Even with that hacking the other week, we knew what was happening, the terminology was obvious. But that was an isolated case anyway.

Yes, I know, I was just adding my two quid's worth. (It's gone up a lot from the two pence worth it used to be).
