It's like anything, forums have a life cycle as well. I think chat rooms used to be the thing before forums, now things like facebook, Twitter and Instagram have taken over. They're not really my kind of thing, I think something new is due.

Are you still hanging around on forums, Freebie, or have you moved on?

It'll be be here as long at Mr M pays the bill Freebie

He's not planning on stopping so we'll be here for quite some time yet, even if there's just us

Most people I know still think that Facebook is the actual internet, everything they think they need and want is on there. I agree with Breezy though, something new is due.

Glad to hear that this place will still be here for a while. It's got considerable sentimental value for me and it would be a sad day if it ever stopped.

It's amazing how many people think the internet starts and ends with Facebook. I don't understand the others either, Twitter I just don't get and Instagram seems dull. I like looking at photos from the people I know, but I don't want to go looking at randomers photos, is that what you're supposed to do or am I supposed to be doing something else? I don't think there's much else you can do with four or five followers, if it wasn't for Jules' stories I'd have nothing to look at.

There's definitely something new needed, if we knew what we'd make a fortune.

Yes, a lot of people just pick up as many random followers/friends as they can, hence why they have hundreds of them. But that doesn't work for me either, and I am glad to say that I have met all but about 2 of the people I have as friends on Facebook. It works for me for that reason and it's a great way, for example, of keeping in touch with old work colleagues without having to speak to them every day. Twitter I only really use to read about subjects I am interested in, I don't post much on there. Instagram still doesn't make sense to me, if I want to share photos I do it on Facebook or Google Photos. I only joined it because it kept mithering me to do so.

I joined Instagram a year or so ago, but deleted it because it wasn't really my kind of thing. I don't get it at all, I don't want a load of randomers following me so I don't see the point of it.

A girl who blogs in Malta posts photos there, so I look at those sometimes, but she's had to stop posting because of penis pictures being sent to her. I've thought for a while that she's putting herself in danger because Malta is small and I can work out where she lives because of some photos she posts, I can see our apartment from her balcony photos. Plus I've walked by her in the street, so now her saying she has to double lock her door and come away because of weirdos puts me off even more.

I'm probably too old for penis pictures, so worrying over nothing.

I've never had a penis picture, I must give off the wrong vibes

I think Instagram (and Pinterest) are good for arty ideas. If i'm wanting cupcake ideas or something arty to make for Christmas i'll see if I can stumble on a good hashtag to search for. My son said that Facebook is for middle age people ( ) and that young ones rarely ever post on their walls but they do use it for group chats.
