Default Toilet paper - is colour important?

I'm sure you used to be able to get toilet paper in all different colours, but for the last few years I've only ever seen white, pink and patterned. Is colour really that important? Who pays more for the colour they want, or do you just get the cheapest and don't mind if it clashes?

My husband brought back pink yesterday and when I complained he said 'but it was a euro cheaper than white'. I'm all for a bargain but I'd rather pay the extra euro.

We had a salmon one, more orange than pink, I don't remember ever seeing toilet paper to match ours.

Never seen the point in coloured or patterned toilet paper. Texture and strength are more important.

France has awful paper, nothing is soft from cheap brands to the most expensive. You get used to it, but I was always in search of something better. I used to read a blog by an American man living in France who mentioned how soft the paper was back home, but I just assumed it'd be like the stuff in the UK that you couldn't get in France. The first year we went to America I was amazed how soft the paper was. I'm not sure whether it was softer than the UK because I'd not tried it for that long, but it was like silk. Here you can get Andrex, so we're back to soft paper now after ten years. The only problem is it's pink at the moment.
