    Default Retirement Gifts

Is it the done thing to get someone a gift when they retire? I know they have collections at work places, but what about family?

My in-laws sold their business yesterday so have now officially retired and I feel a bit tight not sending them anything. I don't have a clue what to send though.

Well it looks like I don't have to think of anything, I doubt they're ever going to retire.

I asked my husband to phone to see what their plans were, it turns out they were waiting for the sale to go through before deciding, but they're thinking of trying something new. I don't think they can not work.

Some folk are like that. I guess if they had their own business then they would see starting another as a hobby or something. And I don't know the answer re retirement presents, but I would say probably not.

I think going from working seven days a week to nothing would be a shock for them. I'd take the money and travel until I was too old to manage it.
