A teenager was attacked by five boys in Telford in what police are describing as a racially motivated assault.

The attack happened as the 17-year-old and a friend were walking into Wellington town centre along Apley Avenue, when they were followed by the group, who were dressed in school uniforms.

Once on Victoria Road, one of the suspects punched the 17-year-old in the face, who then ran away whilst being chased by the other boys, who eventually lost the victim.

The suspects are described as black and all aged between 13 and 16.

The attack happened between 3pm and 3.30pm on Monday. At the time of the incident the attackers were all wearing school uniform and one of them had a green bike.

The suspect who assaulted the 17-year-old is described as around five feet nine inches tall, with black hair and wearing a green coat with a fur hood.
