    Default Christmas shopping.

    When do you start yours?

The shops are starting to fill us with Christmas stuff here, but who starts it this early?

I refuse to even think about Christmas until December, and leave my shopping as late as I can. I shop much better under pressure - no dithering, just buy, buy, buy!

Camb buys me little presents all the time - who could forget the tooth picks (!) - so he's excused at Christmas. I intend to buy him the most ridiculous Christmas jumper I can find and then take wicked pleasure in making him wear it lol

I used to do all the Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. It was the only day I had off work, and it meant I had to get it done, and not dilly-dally around.

That's leaving it a bit late.

I've half considered starting mine, purely because I hate doing it so want it ticked off as out of the way. There again with my daughter being over three this christmas, it means she's now a fully fledged kid who is trusted not to put everything in her mouth, so toys get a bit more interesting. It's been dull for a couple of years with cars, games consoles and boys toys, but now the good stuff is coming back!

The OH does most of ours as it is mostly her family. There's only my parents and my brother on my side, so it's not too difficult. I usually leave it quite late but they are having one of those present swap meetings this year and it depends when they decide to have. Not until advent would be my choice but it will probably be earlier.

Ours is easy because, apart from the people in our house, it's just my daughter from my side of the family and my husband's dad and step mum from his side. My mum was always hard to buy for because she wasn't an easy person to please, so I'm glad I don't have the stress of that anymore.

I saw parsnips in the supermarket yesterday, which is rare to see in France, so I'm excited about christmas dinner more than the presents.

Yes, same here. Christmas dinner is the one special meal we get at home all year and I love it, plus the quiet atmosphere of the day. However, my sister in law is coming over with the kids from New Zealand at Christmas and we will probably have to go and have dinner at the mother in law's this year, which is a pain in the arse.
