He's missing out if he won't have anything from France. I love every day because of the food here.

The food is much better in France

I'm sure you could find some shite if you wanted, but the quality even in supermarkets is loads better

I did have a mediocre meal in Nice, but the majority of food even in the cheaper restaurants is good

They culture seems more interested in food than we are

I love food! I wasn't that bothered before moving to France, so surely France has got something to do with that. Ever day it excites me, even if it's just something basic because it all tastes so good.

When we last went to England all the food tasted cheap or tasteless. I don't know why, but when you're used to food from France it's very noticeable. You're a fool not to try something at that market, Major, if it really is from France.

We Brits do seem to have a high acceptance of rubbish food. It's very hard to get decent stuff when you are out and about. When we were in Malton we ate at the James Martin restaurant at the hotel. Now the food was good, but not exceptional and very expensive for what you get. But it seems to me that you either get crap cheap food or expensive gourmet food in the UK, but decent food in between is hard to get. I think that is where the French get it right, not the Michelin star stuff but the ordinary food is fresher and tastier, and they seem to have more of a wish that you enjoy the food than the take it or leave it attitude that prevails here. And it's not just in France either. I have had food at motorway service areas in Germany, The Netherlands and Denmark and it was much better than here.
