    Default New Finger Print Technology

I really live in the past.

I'm watching Jimmy McGovern's Common and the lad has just had his fingerprints taken electronically with some fancy kit.

I know it makes loads of sense and I understand the advancements in technology but for some reason I just assumed they covered you finger in ink and rolled it across a piece of card. It's what they used to do in cop shows on the 80s.

Bloody hell - even ID parades are electronic now - at least they are in "Common".

LOL. When we went to the US in 2009 we got our fingerprints and our eyes scanned electronically, so I knew about this, plus Apple included the fingerprint login scanner on their i Phones with much fanfare last year. I don't like that though because if someone gets your password you change the password but you can't change your prints if they become compromised, but I guess there must be ways round that (not that I ever want an i Phone but the others will take up the technology I'm sure).

Text edited to stop it putting a bloody link in to Amazon for the phones.

Yeah, I was just going to say that we had ours scanned electronically when we went to America. Not just at the airport, we had them done entering Universal and Disney World as well.

I did the whole mouse thing in Florida with the kids when Harry Potter opened at Universal and don't remember any of that.

I don't know how long it's been like that for, but when you first go to any of the parks they scan your finger to register it to your ticket now. It's all very quick - Disney don't even have turnstiles anymore, so four people can get their fingers done and enter at the same speed as one used to enter.

@timey, was that your edit or Earls? It sounds like Earl.

It was mine. It (something in the forum software) added links to Amazon to buy one of them fruity phones and I don't want to encourage anyone to buy one.

    I like Amazon.

Will not buy an i Phone from them though.
