Yeah, one of the headlines was "UKippered", which is appropriate as UKIP are a red herring.

The red herring being that they haven't actually won anything. It is an EU-wide election, so their 23 or 24 seats are a drop in the ocean.

Those dickheads would ruin this country if they ever got in charge.

Yeah. I don't think they will though. If it goes as it has in the past, then realistically UKIP could get about half the vote they got in this election, i. e. about 14-15%. Under First-Past-The-Post voting this is unlikely to result in any MPs, or at most one or two. It would take a much larger vote even than the one they got in this election to get anything more than about 100 seats. Of course, if they did that they could hold the balance of power, but to be honest I think even that is unlikely.

Yeah, but "Euro-sceptic" party representation in the new EU Parliament is still a minority overall.

Voting Euro-sceptics into the European Parliament is like pissing in the fucking wind.

Surely it's completely arse-about-face? If you're anti-Europe you need to vote for a government which would take s out of Europe, seeing as we're already in Europe I think when it comes to voting for MEPs people ought to really vote for a representative who might actually make a difference on our behalf, whether they agree with being part of the Europe or not. MEPs aren't going to take us out of Europe, voting in Euro-sceptic MPs who will do fuck all is a waste of a vote.

    UKIP voters are fucking numbskulls.

@ well your favourite man Tony Blair talks about UKIP.

Farage's 'dream has become a reality' after Ukip top EU poll - ITV News

He said "At the same time we have got to be strong enough to show the leadership, to take on this wave of anti-immigration and old-fashioned ultra-nationalist feeling which isn't the future, has nothing to offer people and is no real response to the challenges of the 21st century."
