    Default Wimbledon

Does anyone watch Wimbledon these days?

It always seems to be the same people winning for several years in a row so it's just so predictable. I'm sure it used to be different people winning each year.

I noticed that when I saw that Venus won again. I think what's happened is that years ago a lot of people played tennis but nowadays they just stay in and play computer games or they hang around Aldi car park so we're just left with the same players we've had for years. Eventually tennis as a sport will die out.

Mind you, I was just looking back at Wimbledon winners on the internet and it's been that way for a long time. It used to be either Stefi Graf or Martina Navratilova winning the women's for years, and Pete Sampras went on for donkey's years too, and then there was Bjorn Borg. I can't believe that people still get excited about it when it's so obvious who's going to win. It's nice when there's a one-off winner like Pat Cash, Andre Agassi, Ivanisevic, or Hewitt.

The only thing I like about Wimbledon is the commentary by Boris Becker and John McEnroe - they're more entertaining that the tennis.

If Nadal and Williams got together at Wimbledon, there would be baby piglets grunting all day.

There's another thing - all that screeching that the women do - it does my head in.

AND, I don't even like strawberries.

I should have put this thread in grumpy corner!

Women's was a little more unpredictable. Also Venus wasn't playing so great this year.
