Should benefits be capped at £26,000 per household?

And should this include child benefit or not?

Myself I am gobsmacked that ANY one household can recieve £500 and up to £800 pw in benefits.

It includes everything including Housing Benefit and council tax benefit and averaged out. Like in London some house rent at £400 a WEEK! So if they get Hb to pay that as there are not enough council houses then it does seem a Huge amount.
Im sure there should be a limit as to when you dont get child benefit but where you draw that line I dont know

It should be £135 every two weeks, coz that's what I get.

If people are not earning the simple answer is to move to an area where the rents are lower. In London especially (but here too) rents can vary enormously depending on area, so the obvious answer would be not to pay housing benefits in more expensive areas.

They should pay a fixed amount for a 3 bed house etc and you have to find a house you can afford. It's not like they need to be somewhere specific to commute to work

I dont know that much about benefits really to be honest.

I dont either, thats why I was gobsmacked at the amounts that can be paid out.

Apparently 67000 households recieve more than £26.000 in benefits each year in the UK.

That must include
Job seekers,
Housing benefit
Council tax ben
Disability Benefit
Child benefit
Can't think of anything else, I dont know anyone who claims either. Can you claim JSA forever or does it stop at some point? I know you have to prove your looking for a job but not sure if there are more stringent controls in place? ~;

A... People claiming pension credit, working tax credit, and disability living allowance are not affected.
