Default Serious question for ladies, but this is an adult question

Serious question for ladies, but this is an adult question. I asked this in some other forum, but one of mods just removed it, so I didn't get answers in that forum. I'm hoping that I can ask the same question here and get answers this time.

    Moderators,

Can I ask a serious question for ladies (this is an adult question, i. e., sex related)?

There shouldn't be any reason why not.

If it's out of order, I'm sure you'll find out soon enough, LOL.

    Ok, here's the question.

Ladies, when you had sex for the first time, did a certain part of your body hurt? If so, how bad was it?

    That's a funny question OE.

Which 'certain part' are you referring to?

*Tries not to laugh too loudly*

Do you mean the hymen by any chance?

Many girls lose that before having sex, from riding, sports activities or even over exuberant masturbation.

Yes, that's what I was going to ask, and I wasn't so sure if it was ok to be descriptive in this forum.

Supposedly, but they don't lose hymen completely, do they? Also someone who doesn't exercise or masturbate a lot won't lose it until she has sex. No?

Is this a specific question about someone you know?

To my certain knowledge the condition varies from person to person, but yes, it can be completely lost before sex occurs.

In certain countries where virginity is prized or carefully guarded for the wedding day, there are surgeons who will perform a replacement operation.

The web provides plenty of information on this subject.
Try googling 'hymen' for a start, then work through 'virginity' etc.

    This is pretty relevant...

The hymen is not normally damaged by playing sports, using tampons, pelvic examinations or even straddle injuries.

Once a girl reaches puberty, the hymen tends to become quite elastic. It is not possible to determine whether a woman uses tampons or not by examining her hymen: only 43% of women report bleeding the first time they had sex; which means that in the other 57% of women the hymen likely stretched enough that it didn't tear.

It is rare to damage the hymen through accidental injury, such as falling on the crossbar of a bicycle. Although such an accident may cause bleeding, this is usually due to damage to surrounding tissues such as the labia. It is unlikely that an accident would damage the hymen without injuring any other part of the vulva. Therefore, damage to the hymen alone, described as an accident, would be seen as a strong indicator of sexual assault.

Many sources, including romance novels or anything that describes virginity loss, mistakenly indicate that the hymen is somewhere up inside the vagina. This is a common misconception. The hymen is part of the external genitalia.

Warning: Pictures on this page are rather graphic.

Ok, so, most women don't bleed, but do they feel any... pain or discomfort? I guess I need to do more research...

In theory, it seems possible that a woman feels minor pain when she has sex for the first time because...

... If sex hurts, it's usually because a woman hasn't been sexually aroused through foreplay. That means her vagina isn't lubricated enough before a man penetrates her. For more on lubricants, see page 23 or the lubricant article.

OK, I'll repeat my other question, "Is this a specific question about someone you know?"

Or is it to further your general knowledge?

    No.

Yeah, kind of. I'm writing a short story, and I want to create a realistic scene rather than bleeding-all-over-romance-novel type scene. This is why I'm asking this...
