Default Ambulance Driver On Tea Break-Refused To Respond.

I have read these stories before and do not like them one bit.

Their job is to aid or save lives not play politics.
IMO he should have attended unless something REALLY prevented him.

A furious family have told how their daughter was left to die after an ambulance driver refused to respond to a 999 call - because he was on his tea break.

Not good at all. And the other ambulance managed to race there from Grantown, and that is not an easy road to drive. I've no idea what he was thinking of. He must have know the reaction he would get.

I didn't even think they got tea breaks? I thought they had breaks between call outs.

Maybe it's time they gave them shorter shifts, took away their breaks and employed more of them.

I remember living in Montague road Warwick (opposite the Ambulance station) A member of my family suffers from epilepsy(Grande Mall) I ran accross the rd and told Paddy (the ambulance controller ) as all the ambulances were out he put a call out for an ambulance and left another chap in the office to take any calls and ran accross the rd with a bag and treated the member of my family and actually waited until the ambulance came and took her away(she had to be monitored at hospital as she also had a hole in the heart which gave problems when she had a fit ) Paddy was a decent old school type who did not give a monkeys about elf n safety I have nothing but praise for them chaps but nowadays all we hear about are the bad ones! not the ones who have put their own lives at risk saving someone or just staying with them till they passed away bloudy media!

    Mornin Del.

Even one bad neglectful case is one too many, particularly when it affects you or your family.

The bugger is trying to get out of it by saying he was never asked to attend. No, he wasn't asked, they just informed him that a woman had stopped breathing, and he did fuck all about it.
