    Default Big Brother Olympics

    47186 1 - Big Brother Olympics

Housemates have been challenged to the Big Brother Games 2008.

Nicole read out Big Brother's instructions for this week's shopping task to the rest of the group which explained the running track, treadmill and scoreboard in the garden.

She read: "Big Brother is proud to announce the 'Big Brother Games 2008'."

Head of house Mikey has been designated as head coach for the Olympic-style event and will be given a megaphone to bark orders at the other contestants.

Rex said: "Oh no! Mikey with a megaphone."

The housemates will have to prepare for an opening ceremony today before competing in events including press ups, star jumps, sit ups, circuit training and swimming.

Lisa suggested picking someone up and twirling them to open the games.

Rex joked: "Why don't we make a human pyramid?"

Tubby Mohamed had previously said he believes the track in the garden will be part of an "easy" task.

Default Opening ceremony kicks off BB Games

    47195 1 - Big Brother Olympics

Housemates performed their opening ceremony for the ‘Big Brother Games 2008' this afternoon.

The contestants dressed in red tracksuits as they practiced a routine to kick start the Olympic-style challenge.

But their rehearsal was interrupted when Big Brother announced it was time for the final performance.

Sexy Aussie Sara was confident they had mastered the moves during the trial run.

She said: "The timing was perfect."

Before the real thing, Rachel explained to Stuart how best to spin her around without dropping her.

She added: "And then we just do our jazz hands at the end."

Big Brother asked Mikey to take his place on the podium and have his megaphone ready to lead the celebrations.

He said: "Positions please Mohamed, stub that cigarette out."

Housemates performed their routine to music and seemed very pleased with it.

The group will later have to compete in gruelling physical activities including swimming, push-ups and running.

Default Housemates set for the long jump

    47281 1 - Big Brother Olympics

Housemates woke to find a long jump set up in the garden this morning.

The group - who had spent yesterday kick starting the 'Big Brother Games 2008' with an opening ceremony and treadmill task - were keen to get out of bed for once after turning in at midnight.

Welsh beauty Rachel - who faces eviction alongside Stuart this week - and rapper Darnell were the first to see the new addition to the garden and wondered when the games would end.

Rachel said: "How do we pass the shopping task? Maybe it's just taking part?"

Darnell replied: "Yeah, there's only three weeks left and they really don't want us to be miserable."

A supply of bananas and energy bars were also dropped off in the house over night.

Shortly afterwards, sexy Aussie Sara came out to the garden and looked shocked at the new Olympic-style event in the garden.

She said: "I wonder if the winner gets something extra special."

    Default Housemates pass Olympic task

    47373 1 - Big Brother Olympics

Housemates passed the 'Big Brother Games 2008' shopping task.

The athletic contestants successfully completed the gruelling tasks set by Big Brother, which included treadmill running, swimming, push-ups and long jump.

The group will now be treated to a luxury budget.

Big Brother rewarded the winning contestants - Stuart, Rachel, Mohamed, Rex and Sara - with gold medals made of chocolate.

Greedy Mohamed - who usually jumps at the chance of free food - decided he would keep his medal to sell on Internet auction website e-bay.

Personal trainer Stuart thought it was "amazing" how Big Brother managed to print the show's eye logo onto the chocolate.

Big Brother later announced Mikey had incorrectly guessed the winner of the slow race and feather throwing challenge.

Rachel said: "Don't worry, it doesn't matter. We've had the luxury budget."

Most of the housemates gave head of house Mikey a hug.

The housemates cheered and ran over to hug Michael.
