Radio 1 celebrates 40 years

Radio 1 launched on the 30th of September 1967 and on that date this year they are having a day of special programmes to celebrate.

Chris Moyles will be recreating the launch along with the first ever voice on Radio 1, Tony Blackburn.

Other people popping along include Vernon Kay, Zoe Ball, Sara Cox, Mark Goodier, Bruno Brookes and Simon Bates.

I usually try to avoid listening to Radio 1 if I can help it but I might make an exception on that day. It sounds quite good.
