Radio 4's Nick Clarke
Radio 4 presenter, Nick Clarke has died at the age of 58. He was diagnosed with cancer last year and had to have his leg amputated during the treatment. Mr Clarke kept audio diary of his operation and chemotherapy which was broadcast on Radio 4 in June.
Tributes poured in from people, such as Tony Blair who said Mr Clarke was a "true professional who represented the best elements of public service broadcasting". Helen Boaden, the BBC News head also said: "Nick was a superb journalist, it's hard to imagine Radio 4 or BBC journalism without him". Nick Clarke not only presented World at One, but chaired the Round Britain quiz and debate series, Straw Poll.
