Default Star Wars Celebration Japan

Japan will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of Star Wars in their own unique style this month.

Star Wars Celebration Japan will be held at Makuhari-Messe in Chiba, near Tokyo for three days starting on 19th July. The organisers have arranged many events and activities to honour the release of this classic sci-fi institution.

There will be live entertainment, with guest celebrity appearances from stars of the films. Limited edition collectible merchandise, and experts on Star Wars costuming and collectibles including real props and prop replicas. Appearances from Star Wars artists from around the globe, and the chance to obtain exclusive Star Wars Celebration Japan limited edition prints. Interactive photo sets that allow fans the opportunity to see what it would be like to actually play chess on the Millennium Falcon or visit Jabba’s throne room. One lucky fan will win a unique Luke Skywalker sculpture, which will be created over the three day event by renowned Star Wars sculptor Lawrence Noble.

Special guests already confirmed to appear at the show include Mark Hamill, Ray Park, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Jeremy Bulloch, Jake Lloyd, David Prowse and many more…

In addition to all this fans are encouraged to attend in Star Wars costumes, with prizes on offer for costumes judged by the panel to be the most authentic.

I don't think any other countries get quite as excited about stuff like this than Japan.
