There's a method of teaching yourself to have lucid dreams, I don't know what it is off the top of my head, but some people definitely claim they can do it at will.
I have dreams that come true too, not all of them do but some do. It's kinda freaky when it happens. Mine can go months before they happen though, I've never had any next day ones.
I saw a documentary a few years back that did sleep experiments.
One consisted of someone going to sleep beneath a shelf.
They didn't know what was on the shelf, and after a couple of hours kip they were asked to draw what they thought it was.
I forget what it was myself, let's say it was a plant.
Amazingly enough, they drew a plant!
There was another instance in the documentary where a sleep-walker killed his wife. The police turned up to find him sitting on the steps of his house still asleep.
He had no recollection of what he had done.
I think he escaped a jail sentence as well due to not being in control of his actions.

Sometimes the mind shuts shocking things out.
