Transplant Changes Woman's Personality
Cheryl Johnson, from Penwortham, in Preston, Lancashire, claims that since she recieved a kidney transplant her personality has mysteriously changed.
Miss Johnson says that since she had the transplant not only did she become un-characteristically grumpy and short tempered, but her taste in literature has also changed.
Academics in the US have a theory called cellular memory phenomenon. It means that things like memory and personality are physical properties and not just the spititual "soul".
There have been other similar cases, one transplant patient who suffered from vertigo became a mountaineer. Another got a taste for chocolate despite previously hating the stuff. But most remarkable is the seven year old child that started having nightmares about being killed, after receiving the heart of a child who had been murdered!
UK Transplant remain sceptical.

Re: Transplant Changes Woman's Personality
Those stories are for real?
The one about the child having nightmares after a heart transplant could have been an episode for the X Files.
Re: Transplant Changes Woman's Personality
I knew someone who went through something like this after receiving a kidney. There are more things in heaven and earth--
Re: Transplant Changes Woman's Personality
that is absurd. the kidney is not controlling her. this is not some horror flick

Re: Transplant Changes Woman's Personality
A few years back I watched a documentary about this kind of phenomena.
It's common place that when a person loses a limb that they still feel it, but what you dont hear advertised is people inheriting memorised thoughts from retrieved transplants.
I know this sounds like a load of bull and pseudo-science, but can memory be held in the brain only?
Before you dismiss what I suggested I reccommend a web search on the subject. There's plenty of stuff out there.
A deal is a deal until a better one comes along
Re: Transplant Changes Woman's Personality
I know from experience with my clients that some memory is stored in the body when the mind has forgotten it. We all know body memory to a point, everytime we do something we're accustomed to doing, such as walking or riding a bike. When we learned, we had to focus, but you don't even think about it any more. And who's to say that some personality doesn't infuse every cell of your body?
