The Stronsay Beast
The Stronsay Beast was a strange sea creature that washed up on an Orkney beach 200 years ago. Many believed it was a sea monster, similar to the legendary Loch Ness Monster.

Well now Yvonne Simpson, a geneticist, thinks she can extract DNA from bone fragments taken from the carcass and find out exactly what the fuck the Stronsay Beast actually was.

Re: The Stronsay Beast
Anyone know when we will know the outcome of the results?
Re: The Stronsay Beast
It seems to take ages to get DNA results, they get them in hours on TV shows.
Re: The Stronsay Beast
yeah they do take quite awhile. It will be a worthwhile wait atleast
Re: The Stronsay Beast
There is also existence of such news in early 18th century in America. Most of the theorists speak about big sea beasts seen at this time.

Re: The Stronsay Beast
There are loads fo myths and stories about sea beasts and monsters from time immemorial. Most of them are due to sailors' imaginations and poor visibility, and tend to be something not out of the ordinary. And yeah, DNA tests take ages. The ones on TV shows are faked, I reckon, although the ones I have seen on Trishia they've had to wait until the next programme to get the result.
