Carbon dioxide (CO2) poisoning? I presume they meant to say that they had the air recirculation on and the air wasn't getting refreshed. I would still have thought it would be difficult to die of CO2 poisoning in a car though - surely they are not airtight enough. Usually it is carbon monoxide that gets you.
