I find seeing out the old year as a real downer.
I'm tempted to try and sleep through it, this year.

What's everyone doing for New Years Eve this year and who are you spending it with? Friends, family, strangers?
New years eve has always been really important to me. I'm superstition when it comes to it and feel it 'moulds' the coming year for me depending on who with, and where I spend it - which it does seem to.
The superstition is, whoever (and wherever) you bring the new year in with will be in your life and heart for the following year.
I'm gonna be in Rome with my husband and son this year. I don't think I want Rome in my life or heart for a year (it was either that or Spain), but you never know - I'm that superstitious about it, my life will probably change and I'll find myself living there before the year's out.

Why do you feel that? Don't you look forward to the coming year with a bit of excitement - like turning a new leaf?I have to be alert and awake when it gets to midnight - I'd regret it and blame every 'problem' in the year on doing new years eve wrong.
In Italy, the tradition is to wear red knickers to bring the new year in with () - I'll be wearing them.

I'm just looking forward to not having to work it this year. I think we'll have a nice quiet one in, this year. ;-)
