No, not yet, which is why I hardly do any electrical work these days. There is enough plumbing to keep me going forever, lol. Though they're thinking of bringing in a new regulation for plumbing similar to that which they have for electrical work.

Source for the cable size, from this website.

    Hiya Dave.

oooh - I'm another woman who's handy around the house. I'm no good at electrics - but everything else I've had a go at. My proudest 'moment' was learning how to plaster (after ending up with most of it on the floor the first time ops: )...as for plumbing - I had to learn very quickly. One night, I hammered a carpet tack into a pipe and had to fix it - after that, I was an expert. I ripped the whole house apart and redid everything (apart from the electrics)...then sold the house for a huge profit

Lol, good for you. I worked as an apprentice to an electrician for a while and that's how I learnt that, and have an Electronic Engineering degree so anything like that comes naturally to me.

Plumbing I started to learn in similar circumstances, my son pulled the bathroom hand basin off the wall one morning and I had to do an emergency repair it worked ok for a bit after I fixed it, but then started dripping a few days later. Luckily, I'm a lot better these days

Ah - the old 'kid swinging on the basin' trick I had the same problem - I solved it by fitting a vanity basin under/around it though

Plumbing is easy - my first project was refitting an old-fashioned bathroom - I only discovered bendy pipes after I'd spent ages trying to get the pipes from the basin taps right (I started again with bendy one though ).
