    Default Wisdom Teeth

For those of you who still have their wisdom teeth, did your dentist tried to convince you that they should take it out?

Is that what you meant to say?

If so, dentists will recommend removal of wisdom teeth if they cause a problem. It can sometimes require a visit to the dental hospital, as wisdom teeth can be very awkward to extract.

I still have one that will only need extracting if it goes bad.

    Yes, that's what I meant.

However, my dentist recommends that they should be taken out right now even though I don't have problems with it.

Do you think he just wants my money or something? LOL.

I heard the process is expensive.

If it's not giving you any pain or making your teeth crooked then I would politely tell the dentist to 'Go to....'

Best thing is to ask him why Lee and also think about getting a second opinion.

Well, he said that I will have some (chewing) problems in the future if he do not take them out.

    Maybe it's based on statistics.

A lot depends on your age, wisdom teeth can cause a lot more than chewing problems as you get older and they impact on the other teeth, but not always.
A dentist recommending their removal for no obvious reason is a new one on me, but as I said before, maybe a second opinion would be worth seeking.

    Best of luck.

I've had mine removed because they were causing crowding. It was no big deal and didn't cost a fortune.
