It seems that he was born and died on the same date.

Stratford Upon Avon will be packed this weekend to celebrate.

William Shakespeare was born on 23rd of April 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England. It is a market town and civil parish in south Warwickshire, England. Although the exact date is unknown, his birthday is celebrated on the 23rd of April.

He was baptised on 26th April 1564 at the Holy Trinty Church, Stratford. The baptismal register records: 'Guliemus filius Johannes Shakspere"; which means "William, son of John Shakspere".

William Shakespeare died on April 23rd 1616, and was buried on April 25th, in the chancel of the same church in which he was baptised 52 years earlier.

Ah, the good ol' bard ... wrote some wonderful stuff with a great deal of insight and a fantastic sense of humour.

The best way to really experience Shakespeare is at the Globe. I go there whenever I can.
