    Default Serious Driving Question.

Someone driving a automatic car with a full British driving licence but only has one full arm, the other one is amputated at the elbow and he does NOT have a false arm.
He does not have other medical problems.

IS HE LEGALLY ALLOWED TO DRIVE ON THE ROADS OF THIS COUNTRY?

I would say that as long as he declares the fact to the DVLA and the police, i wouldn't have thought there wou;d be a problem, and as long as his driving wasn't going to infringe him or other road users.

I saw a woman with one leg get out of a VW Polo today so im thinking your answer would be yes but I think the car would need to be modified as some of the controls are on the other side of the steering wheel...

How would it be specially adapted and what good would a prosthetic limb be?

I think they might require a knob on their steering wheel.

Yes, it's perfectly legal. As Mr M says, they would just need a modified steering wheel.

    Depends on the disability.
